Miami-Dade, Florida Police Recover Stolen Ford F-250 Pickup in 38 Minutes Assisted by the LoJack® System

It turned out to be anything but a typical Wednesday morning for these Kendall, FL residents when they discovered their Ford F-250 pickup missing from their driveway. These victims were glad they chose to have the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their truck, because with LoJack’s assistance, it was recovered in just over a half hour after activation.
On October 2nd, 2013, the Ford’s owners contacted Miami-Dade Police to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the pickup truck, which was installed at Midway Ford in Miami, FL, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, a Miami-Dade PD auto theft detective picked up the homing signal from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The detective, along with backup, located the Ford parked and abandoned near N.W. 30th Street and 33rd Avenue. The F-250 was recovered and soon returned to its relieved owners.
