Breaking up is hard to do- especially when the person you broke up with takes off with your car. The owner of the 2010 Toyota Corolla in this case fell asleep at his home while a former girlfriend was visiting, When he woke up, he found that both his ex and his Toyota were gone. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his Corolla came to the rescue, helping local law enforcement recover the vehicle in less than 20 minutes after activation.

Early in the morning of October 6th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner discovered the crime and contacted Mesa, AZ police. Officers verified the theft and entered the stolen vehicle’s information into the NCIC police computer. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Power Toyota/Scion in Tempe, AZ.

Just a few minutes later, Mesa PD officers began picking up the homing signal from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Toyota to a residence on West 2nd Street, where it was found parked and unoccupied. The Corolla was recovered with no damage and soon returned to its very relieved owner.
