Atlanta, Georgia Police Recover Carjacked Land Rover Assisted by the LoJack® System

When this Atlanta, GA resident stopped for coffee on the way to work one Friday morning, the last thing he expected was to be carjacked at gunpoint. The most important fact in this case is that the victim was unharmed. The second is that the LoJack® system in his Land Rover Range Rover saved the day by helping local police recover the vehicle by lunchtime.
On September 27th, 2013, the Range Rover’s owner contacted Brook Haven Police to report the crime. Officers entered the vehicle’s information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the SUV, which was installed at Land Rover of South Dade, FL, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, some Atlanta PD officers began receiving a homing signal coming from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicle. The officers tracked the Land Rover to an apartment complex lot, where it was parked and abandoned. The Range Rover, which was in good condition, was soon returned to its relieved owner.
