The victim in this case was assaulted before his car was stolen. Local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system, recovered his vehicle that same day, which hopefully made this terrible experience a little easier to deal with.

On a recent Sunday morning in September, the owner of a Dodge Charger was accosted by three males as he drove in Philadelphia, PA. He was kicked and punched, and the perpetrators then stole his car and escaped. The vehicle owner was able to call Philadelphia Police. Officers arrived on location, verified the crime and entered the stolen vehicle information into the Philadelphia Police Computer System, the Philadelphia Crime Information Center and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Charger, which was installed at Major Chrysler Plymouth Jeep in Long Island City NY.

Later that same day, officers from the Philadelphia Police Highway Patrol Unit received the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicle. The Highway Patrol Officers tracked the signal to East Hilton Street where they found the Dodge parked and unoccupied. After a brief covert surveillance, they saw a male enter the car. He was placed under arrest and the Charger was soon returned to its grateful owner.
