The owner of the Ford Explorer discovered his vehicle missing shortly after 3 a.m. one weekday morning. It’s a good thing that the LoJack® system works 24-7 and was able to assist local law enforcement in recovering the SUV in less than two hours after activation.

On October 3rd, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Explorer, which was installed at Al Packer Auto Group in Baltimore, MD.

Within a short period of time, officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle traveling on Presstman Street in Baltimore City. The Ford was stopped and the driver arrested. The Explorer was soon returned to its very relieved owner.
