When a Florida auto dealer discovered that a 2014 Audi A5 was missing from their inventory, they called police right away. Dealership management knew that the LoJack® system installed in the car would help law enforcement locate it fast- in this case, the A5 was recovered in just 20 minutes after activation.

On October 2nd, 2013, the dealership contacted the West Palm Beach Police to report the crime. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the A5.

A short time later, a Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputy picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy located the vehicle in a parking lot on North Andrews Avenue. A suspect at the location had the vehicle keys in his pocket and was taken into custody. The dealership was extremely relieved to have the A5 back in their possession.
