In this case, the owner of a 2009 Toyota Camry discovers her vehicle missing from her home’s garage very early one Friday morning. It wasn’t too early for the LoJack® system though- it assisted local law enforcement in recovering the car in just 18 minutes after activation.

On August 9th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Kern County Sheriff’s Department. The vehicle information was entered into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the national system, NCIC. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Bill Wright Toyota in Bakersfield, CA.

While investigating this theft, the responding deputy noticed a suspicious pickup truck parked next to the victim’s home. Upon checking, the deputy found that it was also reported stolen.

A short while later, a Kern County deputy picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy located the vehicle parked and abandoned on Warren Avenue in Bakersfield. The victim was glad to get the undamaged Camry back in her possession.
