The owner of the Ford F-350 in this case found his truck missing in the early morning hours one Thursday and promptly called local law enforcement. The LoJack® system installed in his pickup was activated and the F-350 was recovered by police just 10 minutes later.

When the crime was discovered on September 26th, 2013, it was reported to the King County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the truck, which was installed at Pacific Coast Ford in Federal Way, WA.

Just a few minutes later, a Federal Way Police officer received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car. The officer tracked the signal to Pacific Highway South where he found the Ford parked and abandoned. The F-350 was soon returned to its relieved owner.
