A disgruntled employee stole a Nissan Titan truck with an attached cargo trailer from his Louisiana employer. When his boss was unable to contact the thief, he called local police, who activated the LoJack® system installed in the pickup and both recovered the vehicle and apprehended the suspect in less than an hour after activation.

On September 4th, 2013, the business owner contacted the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office to report the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Titan, which was installed at Ford Lincoln Mercury Nissan of Slidell, LA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, St. Tammany officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Additional police units came into the area to assist. They located the Titan traveling on the highway and stopped it, arresting the driver. The Nissan Titan was recovered in great shape and returned to the owner along with the trailer.
