The owner of the stolen Ford Ranger in this case was pretty certain a relative had stolen his truck, but was having no luck locating either the person or the vehicle. Luckily, the LoJack® system he had installed when he purchased his truck helped police recover it in just 13 minutes after activation.

On September 23rd, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office to report the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the information into the NCIC stolen vehicle database. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Ford, which was installed at Premier Nissan in Gladstone, OR.

A short while later, Port of Portland police units received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars. Officers tracked the truck to NE Marx Street, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged Ford was soon returned to its relieved owner.
