The Oklahoma resident in this case noticed that his Chevrolet Camaro was missing from his residence late one Monday evening. The LoJack® system installed in his car was ready to assist no matter what time it was, so his local police, using LoJack, recovered the vehicle in less than a half hour after activation.

On September 16th, 2013, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department to report the crime. Sheriff’s deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Camaro, which was installed at Burt Chevrolet in Englewood, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, a deputy with the OCSD picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen Camaro with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car. The deputy was able to quickly locate the Chevy on Post Ave. in Oklahoma City. One suspect at the scene was taken into custody. The Camaro was soon returned to its very relieved owner.
