The owner of the Saab 93 in this case discovered the vehicle missing early one Friday evening in Tacoma, WA. The victim’s car- and weekend- was saved by the LoJack® system installed in the 93, which helped local police recover it in less than two and a half hours after activation.

On September 13th, 2013, the Saab’s owner reported the crime to the Tacoma Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the 93, which was installed at Infiniti of Tacoma, WA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, a King County Sheriff’s deputy and a Federal Way PD officer received the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars. A King County SO helicopter (Guardian One) joined in the search. The helicopter pilots tracked the Saab to a private home in Federal Way and notified ground units. Responding officers arrived at the residence and took two suspects into custody. The 93 was soon returned to its relieved owners.
