The LoJack® System Helps Miami-Dade, Florida Police Recover Stolen Ford F-150 Pickup Truck in 25 Minutes

Nothing will ruin a relaxing Sunday afternoon like having your vehicle stolen. The Miami, FL victims in this case didn’t have too long to worry, because the LoJack® system they had installed when purchasing their Ford F-150 helped local police recover it in less than a half hour after installation.
On September 15th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Miami-Dade Police to report the crime. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the F-150, which was installed at Maroone Ford of Miami, FL.
A very short time later, a Miami-Dade PD officer picked up the homing signal from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computer installed in the patrol vehicle. Officers from Miami Gardens and Miramar Police picked up the signal as well. The officers converged near N.W. 188th Terrace and 67th Court, where they tracked the truck and found it parked and abandoned. The undamaged Ford was soon returned to its grateful owners.
