The victims in this case called police to report their Volvo S40 was missing, and, what was even worse, they believed a relative had taken it. The LoJack® system on their vehicle did not discriminate. Whether the person taking your car, truck, van or motorcycle without your permission is a total stranger or a family member, LoJack will help local law enforcement track it down quickly- in this example, less than an hour and a half after activation.

On September 11th, 2013, the Volvo’s owners contacted the Lauderhill Police to report the crime. The responding officer verified the theft and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in theS40, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Lauderdale Lakes, FL.

A short while later, a member of the auto theft task force picked up the homing signal from the stolen sedan on the LoJack tracking computer installed in the patrol vehicle. The ATTF officer, along with backup from the Hialeah PD, located the Volvo parked and abandoned on West 10th Court. The undamaged S40 was soon returned to its happy owners.
