Miami-Dade, Florida Police Recover Stolen Toyota RAV4 in 32 Minutes with Help from the LoJack® System

Deciding to have the LoJack® system installed in your car, truck, van or motorcycle seems like a pretty good idea when you first purchase it- but the true value doesn’t hit home until the day your vehicle is stolen. It’s likely these Miami,FL residents would agree- their Toyota RAV4 was stolen from their residence and recovered in just over a half hour by local police assisted by LoJack.
On September 19th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Miami-Dade Police to report the crime. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the RAV4, which was installed at Palm Beach Toyota in West Palm Beach, FL.
A short while later, a Miami-Dade PD officer picked up the homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Toyota parked and abandoned in an apartment complex parking lot on N.E. 10th Avenue. The undamaged RAV4 was soon returned to its relieved owner.
