The Miami, FL residents in this case noticed their Chevrolet Silverado was missing on the morning of Friday the 13th. Having your vehicle stolen is bad luck no matter what the date is, but a good way to put the odds back in your favor is to have the LoJack® system installed in your car, truck, van or motorcycle. Our victims’ local police, assisted by LoJack, were able to recover the stolen truck in less than an hour and a half after activation.

On September 13th, 2013, the Chevy’s owners contacted the Miami-Dade Police to report the crime. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Silverado, which was installed at Maroone Chevrolet of West Dade in Miami, FL.

A short while later, a Miami-Dade PD K-9 officer picked up the silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computer installed in patrol vehicles. The officer requested backup and tracked the Chevy to a residential community where it was parked and abandoned. The Silverado was soon returned to its happy owners.
