The Honda Accord in this case was discovered missing from its owners’ residence just after lunchtime on a Tuesday. They had last seen their car the previous evening. Even though they were unsure as to when the car was actually stolen, the local police, assisted by the LoJack® system, were able to recover it in just over a half hour after activation.

On August 6th, 2013, the Honda’s owner of a 1996 Honda Accord contacted the Lawrence Police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Herb Chambers Honda in Burlington, MA.

A short while later, officers from the Lawrence PD began receiving homing signals from the Honda on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the car parked and abandoned on Belmont Street. The Accord was soon returned to its relieved owner.
