In this case, the air and ground units of the Baltimore, MD Police combine forces with the LoJack® system to recover a stolen Nissan Sentra the same day it was reported missing.

On September 4th, 2013, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Sentra, which was installed at Tischer Acura/Nissan in Laurel, MD, was then automatically activated.

Within a short period of time, flight officers from the Baltimore City Police Department Aviation Unit ”Foxtrot” picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their helicopter. The flight officers tracked the vehicle to Chesterfield Avenue in Baltimore. Ground units were alerted and recovered the undamaged Nissan, which was parked and abandoned. The Sentra was soon returned to its grateful owner.
