In this case, a Toyota Tacoma truck is stolen and then recovered in less than three hours after activation by local police assisted by the LoJack® system.

On August 25th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department (SDCSD) to report his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Tacoma, which was installed at Toyota of Chula Vista, CA.

A short while later, deputies from SDCSD picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the vehicle to a residential area in Bonita, where the Tacoma was found parked and abandoned. The truck was soon returned to its relieved owner.
