The Honda Accord owner in our next case was carjacked just after 2 a.m. one Tuesday morning. Although he was the victim, and most certainly was both frightened and aggravated by the situation, he was lucky for two reasons- because he was not harmed by the thieves, and because he had the LoJack® system installed when he bought his vehicle, so local police were able to recover it that same morning.

On September 3rd, 2013, the Honda’s owner reported the incident to the Clayton County Police Dept. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Maroone Honda in Hollywood, FL, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, an East Point police officer received a homing signal from the Honda on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer called for backup and tracked the car to a gas station, where three people were sitting inside. As officers approached the car, the occupants took off. The Accord was in good condition and soon returned to its happy owner.
