The Chevrolet Camaro owner in this case knows he made a wise investment when he purchased the LoJack® system for his car because this is the second incident when the vehicle was stolen and recovered by police using LoJack.

On July 20th, 2013, the Chevy’s owner contacted the New Orleans Police to report that his Camaro was stolen overnight while parked on a street in the French Quarter. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Camaro, which was installed at AutoNation Chevrolet North in Denver, CO, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, NOPD officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicle. The officers tracked the vehicle to the rear yard of a home on Mazant St. As the officers approached the house they heard someone exiting out the back of the house. The undamaged Camaro was found on the property along with rear of the home. The officer obtained a search warrant for the home and property. Upon conducting the search the officers recovered the Chevy as well as several other late model cars and numerous auto parts and engines, many of which had been reported stolen. The Camaro’s owner was very grateful to have his undamaged vehicle returned to him for the second time.
