In this case, a Bentley Continental convertible is stolen from a used car lot in Louisiana. The owner of the lot was on an extended vacation so the theft was not discovered for several weeks. Despite the long time period between the theft and the report, police in Garland, TX, assisted by the LoJack® system, were able to recover the car.

On July 2nd, 2013, the used car lot’s owner contacted the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office to report that the Bentley was stolen while he was away and a relative was managing the business. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Continental, which was installed at Braman Motor Cars in West Palm Beach, FL.

A short while later, an officer from the Garland, TX Police picked up the silent homing signals from the Bentley on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the vehicle to a body shop on S. Shiloh Road. The convertible was undamaged and soon returned to the relieved dealership.
