When a Chevrolet Malibu was stolen one Saturday evening, the Baltimore residents who own it knew just what to do- they called their local police, who used the car’s LoJack® system to track it down quickly.

On August 10th, 2013, the Chevy’s owners contacted the Baltimore City, MD Police to report that their vehicle was stolen from S. East Avenue. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Chevrolet, which was installed at Antwerpen Chevrolet in Randallstown, MD.

Within a short period of time, officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the homing signals from the Chevrolet on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to Frederick Avenue in Baltimore City, where it was found parked and unoccupied. The Malibu was soon returned to its happy owner.
