The Ford F-250 in this case was discovered missing in Florida very early one Tuesday morning, and, thanks to local police aided by the LoJack® system, was recovered less than four hours later that same morning.

On July 30th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Miami-Dade Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the pickup truck, which was installed at World Ford-Kendall in Miami, FL.

A short while later, a Miami-Dade PD officer picked up the homing signal from the Ford truck on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer requested backup, and located the pickup parked and abandoned on S.W. 163rd Avenue. The F-250, which had only minor damage, was soon returned to its happy owner.
