The kindly owner of a Toyota Camry loaned her car to a ‘friend’ for a quick trip to the store. When the borrower refused to return the keys, the owner had local police activate her LoJack® system and track the vehicle down in less than a half hour after activation.

On July 18th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Kendall Toyota in Miami, FL.

A short while later, an LCSO deputy picked up the homing signal from the Toyota on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer, after requesting backup, located the vehicle in the garage of a house in Lehigh Acres. The Camry was recovered and soon returned to its happy owner.
