A Toyota Sienna is stolen from its owner’s Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY residence one Saturday morning in this case. This victim was glad he had the LoJack® system installed when purchasing his minivan, since his local police used LoJack to track it down in less than three hours after activation.

On August 3rd, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the NYPD 72nd precinct, to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the NYPD stolen vehicle computer and the NCIC national stolen vehicle system. The LoJack unit concealed on the Sienna, which was installed at Manfredi Toyota in Staten Island, NY, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, members of the Brooklyn South Auto Larceny Unit picked up the homing signal from the minivan on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked it to a residential street in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn, where it was found parked and unoccupied. The owner was elated that his undamaged Sienna was recovered so quickly, especially in good condition. He further stated that he was grateful that he had LoJack, and felt that if it wasn’t for LoJack his vehicle may never have been recovered.
