The New Jersey resident in this case got a rude awakening when he saw that his 2013 Toyota Sienna was missing from his driveway, where he parked it the previous evening. His morning improved thanks to his local police, who were able to track his minivan down, assisted by the LoJack® system, it just two hours after activation.

On August 1st, 2013, the Toyota’s contacted the Washington Township, NJ Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Sienna, which was installed at Toyota of Turnersville, NJ.

A short time later, a patrol officer from the Camden, NJ Metro Police picked up the homing signals coming from the stolen minivan on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the Toyota to a shopping center parking lot, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged Sienna was soon returned to its happy owner.
