Waking up Sunday morning to find that your vehicle has been stolen is not the best way to end your weekend. This New Jersey victim knew just what to do in this situation- he called his local police who, with the help of the LoJack® system, were able to recover his Jeep Wrangler in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On August 4th, 2013, the Wrangler’s owner called the Jersey City Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Jeep, which was installed at DiFeo Chevrolet Buick in Jersey City, NJ, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, a patrol officer from the JCPD picked up the homing signal coming from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer. The officer tracked the vehicle to the rear yard of an vacant building on Grant Street, where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged Wrangler was soon returned to its grateful owner.
