A Mercedes Benz E350 was stolen from its owner’s carport in this case. The police were alerted as soon as the theft was discovered, and local police, with the help of the LoJack® system, were able to recover it in just over two and a half hours after activation.

On July 30th, 2013, the owner of the Mercedes called the Seattle Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Mercedes, which was installed at Mercedes Benz of Bellevue, WA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, Seattle PD officers received the homing signal transmitting from the Mercedes on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol cars. The officers located the car at SW Hinds Street and California Avenue SW, where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged E350 was soon returned to its grateful owner.
