In this case, a woman has her Chrysler 300 stolen by an ex-boyfriend in Newark, NJ, and recovered in New York City thanks to local law enforcement assisted by the LoJack® system.

On July 24th, 2013, the Chrysler’s owner contacted the Newark, NJ Police to report the crime. Newark PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the 300, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Clifton, NJ.

A short time later, detectives from the New York City Police Department Auto Crime Unit picked up the homing signals coming from the Chrysler on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicle. The detectives tracked the vehicle to West 174th Street where they found it parked and unattended. Surveillance was established, and soon two suspects were arrested as they entered the car. The undamaged 300 was soon returned to its relieved owner.
