Very, very early one Monday morning, the Philadelphia residents in this case discovered their Ford Expedition missing from their driveway. The victims immediately contacted police. When the LoJack® system inside the SUV was activated, the police were able to locate the Expedition in less than three quarters of an hour.

On July 29th, 2013, the Ford’s owner called Philadelphia Police to report the crime. The assigned officer entered the vehicle information into the Philadelphia Police Computer System and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the stolen Ford, which was installed at Pacifico Ford in Philadelphia, PA.

A short while later, officers from the Philadelphia Police South Division picked up the homing signals from the Ford on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked the signal to Saint Michael Drive where the Expedition was found parked and unoccupied. The undamaged SUV was soon returned to its happy owners.
