In this case, a Dodge Ram pickup is stolen from one California town and recovered in another the same day, thanks to local law enforcement and the LoJack® system.

On July 26th, 2013, the Dodge’s owner contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his truck was stolen. SDPD verified the theft and entered the Ram’s information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Dodge, which was installed at Power Dodge in Ontario, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, deputies from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the Ram on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the vehicle to a commercial parking lot at a warehouse club store in La Mesa. A suspect entered the truck and tried to drive away, but the vehicle was quickly stopped and the suspect taken into custody. The pickup was soon returned to its very happy owner. This incident was the second time the Dodge had been stolen and recovered thanks to the police and LoJack.
