A Ford F-550 service truck is taken from a trucking company lot in Pacific, WA, in this case. Although the truck could have been stolen any time in a seven day window, local police are still able to track it down the same afternoon it’s reported, thanks to the LoJack® system.

When the truck was discovered missing on July 17th, 2013, it was immediately reported to the Pacific Police Department. After verifying the theft, PPD officers entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the truck, which was installed at a large national rental company.

A short while later, a King County deputy received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen Ford on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. Officers located the F-550 behind a locked gate in Maple Valley. The thief had removed both batteries and covered the truck with brush to conceal its location, but the LoJack system still located it. The trucking company was thrilled to get their property back so fast.
