What a bad way to end your vacation- coming home and finding your vehicle missing! That was the story in Portland, OR recently when the owner of a Mercedes Benz C280 returned to find out his car was not in his apartment complex’s parking lot. The LoJack® system installed in the stolen vehicle sure came in handy that evening- it helped local police recover the C280 in just three hours after activation.

The owner called Portland, OR Police immediately after discovering the Mercedes was missing. Officers verified the theft and entered the VIN (vehicle identification number) into the NCIC stolen vehicle database. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the C280, which was installed at Hoehn Mercedes in Carlsbad, CA.

A short while later, a Fairview PD officer received the homing signal from the Mercedes on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car. The officer located the car, parked and abandoned, in a hotel lot in Wood Village. The C280 was soon returned to its grateful owner.
