The Kirkland, WA residents in this case noticed their BMW 325i missing from their driveway just before midnight one Sunday evening. It’s a good thing they had the LoJack® system installed when buying their car, because the local police were able to track it down in just over a half hour after activation.

The BMW’s owners called the Kirkland Police Department, who entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the 325i, which was installed at BMW of Bellevue, WA.

It was only a few minutes later when a Snohomish County deputy received the homing signal transmitting from the BMW on the LoJack tracking computer in his patrol vehicle. He quickly found the car on 188th Place SE near Mill Creek, parked and abandoned. The undamaged 328i was soon returned to its happy owners.
