In this case, three separate branches of California law enforcement team up with the LoJack® system to recover a stolen Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle in just one hour and 22 minutes after activation.

On July 19th, 2013, the Suzuki’s owner contacted Oakland Police to report that his bike was stolen from his home. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle, which was installed at East Bay Motorsports in Hayward, CA.

A short time later, Oakland Police, Oakland California Highway Patrol and East Bay Regional Parks Police Helicopter all picked up the homing signals from the Suzuki on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft. The helicopter crew located the bike at a private home in South Oakland and notified ground units, who retrieved the GSX-R600 in the home’s garage and arrested one suspect, who had already removed a few parts that were found on the garage floor. The owner of the Suzuki R600 was contacted and made arraignments to reclaim his beloved sports bike.
