In this case, an Audi A4 is stolen from a Chicago, IL residence and recovered by local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system, in less than four hours after activation.

On July 18th, 2013, the Audi’s owner discovered his vehicle missing from his residence and contacted the Chicago Police. CPD verified the theft and entered the A4’s information into the local and federal crime computers. The LoJack device hidden within the Audi, which was installed at Luxury Motors O’Hare in Chicago, IL, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, both CPD officers and the Illinois State Police (ISP) began receiving the homing signal from the Audi on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. ISP troopers were able to track the A4 to Dalton, IL, where the car was found parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Audi was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
