In this case, the air and ground units from the Baltimore, MD Police Department team up with the LoJack® system to recover a stolen Chrysler Town & Country minivan in less than 20 minutes after activation.

On July 17th, 2013, the minivan’s owner contacted the Baltimore City PD to report that their Town & Country vehicle was stolen. BCPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Chrysler, which was installed at Heritage Chrysler Jeep in Baltimore, MD, was then automatically activated.

A few minutes later, detectives from the Regional Auto Theft Team (RATT) and flight officers in the Baltimore City Aviation Unit “Foxtrot” picked up the homing signals from the Chrysler on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopter. The detectives tracked the vehicle to Kirk Avenue in Baltimore City, where it was parked and unoccupied. After a brief surveillance, three suspects entered the vehicle and attempted to drive away. The detectives stopped the minivan and arrested the suspects. The Town & Country was soon returned to its grateful owners.
