Synergy is defined as ‘the interaction of multiple elements in a system to produce an effect different from or greater than the sum of their individual effects’. This is also a great description of how the LoJack® system works.  In this case, the air and ground divisions of the Atlanta, GA police join forces and recover a stolen 2011 Ford Explorer with the help of LoJack.

On July 15th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted Atlanta Police to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their home. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Explorer, which was installed at Gene Evans Ford in Union City, GA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, an Atlanta Police Air Support Unit began receiving the  homing signal from the Ford on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their helicopter. The pilot tracked the vehicle to an apartment complex parking lot and requested ground backup. The ground officer found a male inside the SUV and arrested him. The Explorer was soon returned to its relieved owner, who stated he was glad he had LoJack installed when he purchased his vehicle at the dealership.
