Very early one Wednesday morning, the Manhattan resident in this case noticed his Dodge Charger missing from where he had parked it. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his car sure came in handy- it helped police located his stolen vehicle that same day.

On July 17th, 2013, the Dodge’s owner contacted the NYPD 25th Precinct in Manhattan, to report his vehicle was stolen near his residence on E.122nd St. NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers (NYSPIN/NCIC). This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Charger, which was installed at Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Bayside, NY.

A short while later, officers from the 25th precinct picked up the homing signals from the Dodge on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the unoccupied vehicle parked on E.115th St. in Manhattan.  The undamaged Charger was soon returned to its extremely happy owner.
