This case features a crime that seems to be on the rise- thieves break into a home, and then steal a vehicle from the residence to make their getaway in. Obviously, these crooks don’t know about the LoJack® system, which allows law enforcement to quickly and safely track and recover stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles.

On July 5th, 2013, the owner of a 2003 Lincoln LS contacted the Dallas Police Dept. to report that his house had been burglarized and his vehicle was stolen.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the LS, which was installed at Sewell Lexus in Dallas, TX.

A short while later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the homing signals from the Lincoln on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a convenience store, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged LS was soon returned to its relieved owner.
