Sleeping late on a Sunday morning is pretty great, but waking up and finding your vehicle missing from where you left it the night before is a pretty rude awakening no matter what time you get up. Having the LoJack® system installed when you purchase your car is one way to make this scenario a little less difficult. Your local police, using LoJack, can recover your vehicle quickly and make the entire situation less aggravating.

On July 8th, 2013, the owner of a 2012 Toyota Corolla contacted the Chicago Police Department to report his vehicle stolen from his residence overnight. CPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into LEADS/NCIC, the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Elmhurst Toyota in Elmhurst, IL.

Officers from the Chicago Police 8th District began picking up the homing signal from the Corolla on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked the car to the Southwest side of Chicago near 63rd and Lawndale, where it was discovered parked and unoccupied. The Toyota, with only minimal damage, was soon returned to its relieved owner.
