In this case, thieves take a Honda Accord from Manchester, NH across state lines into Massachusetts, possibly thinking that the change of state would hinder police in their search. Unfortunately for the crooks (and fortunately for the rest of us), when the LoJack® system is activated, it works in any LoJack covered area, so MA law enforcement were able to recover the car.

On July 11th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted Manchester, NH Police to report that her vehicle was stolen from her residence. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Bernardi Honda in Natick, MA.

A short while later, officers from the Lawrence, MA police picked up the homing signals from the stolen Honda on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to the intersection of Shawsheen Road and Abbott Street, where it was found parked and unoccupied. The Accord was soon returned to its grateful owner.
