Monday is a tough enough day to deal with without finding out your vehicle is missing. Unfortunately, that’s what happened when this Portland, OR resident discovered his Nissan Maxima missing from his driveway just after 5 pm. The LoJack® system installed in his car made the situation easier by helping local police recover the Nissan in just under an hour and a half after activation.

The Maxima’s owner contacted the Portland, OR Police Bureau. Officers verified the theft and entered the VIN (vehicle identification number) into the NCIC stolen vehicle database.  This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Pacific Nissan in Glendale, CA.

A short time later, a Multnomah County deputy received the homing signal from the Maxima on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car.  He located the car on NE 2nd Avenue in Portland, where it was parked and abandoned. The Nissan was soon returned to its very relieved owner.
