In this case, a Cadillac DeVille is stolen from a residence in Federal Way, WA and recovered in two hours and 20 minutes after activation thanks to local police and the LoJack® System.

On June 21st, 2013, the Cadillac’s owner arrived home after being gone 12 hours and noticed his vehicle missing. He immediately contacted Federal Way Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number (VIN) into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Cadillac, which was installed at McCann Cadillac in Fife, WA.

A short time later, a Seattle PD officer received homing signal transmitting from the Cadillac on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car.  The officer tracked the signal to the underground garage of a hotel on Aurora Avenue North, and located the DeVille parked and abandoned. A suspect was identified using security video from the hotel. The Cadillac was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
