Summertime is a great time to ride your motorcycle, but not such a great time to have it stolen. This Los Alamitos, CA victim was very glad he had the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his Yamaha YZF-R6, so local law enforcement could recover it for him that same day.

On June 14th, 2013, the Yamaha’s owner reported his motorcycle stolen to the Los Alamitos Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the motorcycle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the YZF-R6, which was installed at West Covina Motor Sports in Perris, CA, was then automatically activated.

Patrol officers from the Long Beach PD picked up the homing signal from the stolen motorcycle on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol units.  The LBPD, assisted by “Air Fox 2” flight officers, located the YZF-R6 parked in the rear yard of a private residence on Marimba. The suspect was present and taken into custody. The Yamaha was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
