The University of Miami is home to the popular Hurricanes football team, so keeping their campus football field in great shape is a top priority- so, when a Kawasaki Mule utility vehicle was stolen from the school’s ground crew, it was important to get it back ASAP. Having the LoJack® system installed on the Mule was a wise decision, because local law enforcement recovered it in less than a half hour after activation.

On June 26th, 2013, a member of the ground crew at the University of Miami football field discovered that a 2011 Kawasaki Mule utility vehicle was missing. University police verified the theft and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Mule was then automatically activated.

A short while later, Coral Gables PD officers picked up the silent LoJack homing signal from the Kawasaki on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Mule abandoned in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Madruga Avenue, and soon returned it to the very relieved UM ground crew.
