In this case, a Mercedes Benz CLS500 was stolen from the owner’s Florida home a little after 10 am one Thursday morning. Thanks to the efforts of local law enforcement, helped by the LoJack® system, the car was recovered in only one hour and 46 minutes.

On June 13th, 2013, the Benz’s owners contacted the Broward County Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in West Park. The responding officer verified the theft and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the CLS500, which was installed at CarMax in Miami, FL.

A short while later, Auto Theft Task Force members picked up the homing signal from the Mercedes on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked the Mercedes to a residential driveway in Miami Gardens and recovered it. The CLS500 was soon returned to its very relieved owners.
