In this case, a Chevrolet Express van is stolen from Virginia and recovered less than four hours later in Maryland, thanks to local law enforcement and the LoJack® system.

On June 24th, 2013, the owner of a Chevrolet Express Van contacted the Fairfax County, VA Police to report that their vehicle was stolen from Leesburg Pike in Falls Church, VA. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computer. The LoJack unit, which was installed at Jim McKay Chevrolet in Fairfax, VA, was then automatically activated.

After a short period of time, officers from the Prince Georges County Police picked up the homing signals from the van on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to the Temple Hills area, where they located it parked and occupied. The undamaged Express was soon returned to its relieved owner.
