Talk about a satisfied customer! This San Diego, CA resident was extremely happy that he had the LoJack® system installed on his Honda Accord when it was stolen and retrieved by police in May of 2013. When it happened again just a little over a month later, the Accord’s owner knew for sure what a great investment the LoJack system is.

On June 12th, 2013, the Accord’s owner contacted the Monterey Park Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from a friend’s residence.  Monterey Park PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit, which was installed at Kramer Honda-Volvo in Santa Monica, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego PD Auto Theft Unit picked up the homing signals from the Honda on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicle.  The officers tracked the vehicle to the McDonald’s parking lot on Roll Drive in San Diego.  The officers inspected the Honda and noticed the identification number had been altered and license plates changed- tactics that may fool a human being, but not the LoJack system. One suspect was arrested inside the restaurant, and the undamaged Accord was soon back in the possession of its happy owner.
